Rebecca joined the North San­tiam Water­shed Coun­cil in June of 2013. Rebecca grew up in Port­land, Ore­gon and grad­u­ated from Port­land State Uni­ver­sity with a bachelor’s in Envi­ron­men­tal Sci­ence with a minor in biol­ogy.  Rebecca has worked as Nat­ural Resource Spe­cial­ist for the Ore­gon Depart­ment of Envi­ron­men­tal Qual­ity (ODEQ), a Forestry Tech­ni­cian for US For­est Ser­vice Sand­point Ranger Dis­trict, a Hydrol­ogy Tech­ni­cian for Wash­ing­ton County  and prior to com­ing to the coun­cil Rebecca worked as a staff  biol­o­gist for the  Con­fed­er­ated Tribes of Grand Ronde.

Tyler Ped­er­sen
North San­tiam & South San­tiam Restora­tion Project Man­ager
Tyler Ped­er­sen is the new San­tiam Restora­tion Projects Man­ager for the North and South San­tiam Water­shed Coun­cils. As an ecol­o­gist, he has per­formed a wide range of field work posi­tions includ­ing track­ing endan­gered and threat­ened rat­tlesnakes and tur­tles in Illi­nois, trap­ping small mam­mals in East­ern Mon­tana, blaz­ing trails in West­ern Mon­tana and Idaho and cor­ing trees in the sub-alpine forests of Wyoming and Col­orado. In 2006, he grad­u­ated from the Uni­ver­sity of Mon­tana with a Bachelor’s Degree in Ecol­ogy. After col­lege, he served two years in the Ameri­corps pro­gram as a Mon­tana Con­ser­va­tion Corps crew mem­ber in Helena, Mon­tana and then Bio­di­ver­sity Con­ser­va­tion Coor­di­na­tor for the City of Gre­sham, Ore­gon. For the last 7 years, Tyler worked as a project man­ager at the Coos Water­shed Asso­ci­a­tion, a non-profit water­shed coun­cil, in Coos Bay, Ore­gon, and at the Sius­law Water­shed Coun­cil in Maple­ton, Ore­gon.  He has man­aged and imple­mented 40+ water qual­ity, ripar­ian, wet­land, fish pas­sage & in-stream wood place­ment projects, wrote state and fed­eral restora­tion grants to suc­cess­fully secure $2,000,000, and looks for­ward to work­ing with two more qual­ity water­shed coun­cils.  Presently, Tyler lives with his wife, daugh­ter, two cats and a dog in Har­ris­burg, Ore­gon.  In his spare time, Tyler enjoys writ­ing poetry, read­ing, run­ning, hik­ing, and cap­tur­ing snap­shots of nature with his iPhone camera.
