North Santiam Watershed Council Coordinator
Rebecca joined the North Santiam Watershed Council in June of 2013. Rebecca grew up in Portland, Oregon and graduated from Portland State University with a bachelor’s in Environmental Science with a minor in biology. Rebecca has worked as Natural Resource Specialist for the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ), a Forestry Technician for US Forest Service Sandpoint Ranger District, a Hydrology Technician for Washington County and prior to coming to the council Rebecca worked as a staff biologist for the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde.

North Santiam & South Santiam Restoration Project Manager
Tyler Pedersen is the new Santiam Restoration Projects Manager for the North and South Santiam Watershed Councils. As an ecologist, he has performed a wide range of field work positions including tracking endangered and threatened rattlesnakes and turtles in Illinois, trapping small mammals in Eastern Montana, blazing trails in Western Montana and Idaho and coring trees in the sub-alpine forests of Wyoming and Colorado. In 2006, he graduated from the University of Montana with a Bachelor’s Degree in Ecology. After college, he served two years in the Americorps program as a Montana Conservation Corps crew member in Helena, Montana and then Biodiversity Conservation Coordinator for the City of Gresham, Oregon. For the last 7 years, Tyler worked as a project manager at the Coos Watershed Association, a non-profit watershed council, in Coos Bay, Oregon, and at the Siuslaw Watershed Council in Mapleton, Oregon. He has managed and implemented 40+ water quality, riparian, wetland, fish passage & in-stream wood placement projects, wrote state and federal restoration grants to successfully secure $2,000,000, and looks forward to working with two more quality watershed councils. Presently, Tyler lives with his wife, two cats and two dogs in Harrisburg, Oregon and will be the proud father of a baby girl in January 2017. In his spare time, Tyler enjoys writing poetry, reading, running, hiking, and capturing snapshots of nature with his iPhone camera.

North Santiam & South Santiam Restoration Project Technician
Joe is originally from Independence, Oregon where he grew up exploring the Santiam and Willamette Rivers. He graduated from Pacific University with a bachelor’s in Environmental Studies (Sustainable Design) and a minor in Spanish. While in college, Joe worked for Clean Water Services assisting with watershed management of EDRR species as well as monitoring and compliance for the Fernhill Natural Treatment Wetlands. He has since worked as the Field Operations Manager for Ash Creek Forest Management prior to joining the council in September of 2016. In his free time, Joe enjoys playing music as well as fishing and hunting.
