Hello
Brandin Hilbrandt
Executive Director
About Me
Brandin grew up in a small community outside of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and spent most of her childhood finding streams to play in and search for bugs along the Rappahannock River. The western US, its vast and open beauty was instilled at a very young age where she knew she wanted to move there one day. Brandin holds a B.A in Environmental Geology with a minor in Watershed Science from Colorado State University. After college, she moved to various cities and small towns along the Rocky Mountain Range. She has worked multiple seasons for Death Valley National Park Natural Resource Division, an Adjunct Faculty member for Geography and Geology courses at the College of Southern Nevada, an AmeriCorps member for a watershed council in Big Sky, Montana, and a seasonal in for the Wildlife Biologist in Mesa Verde National Park before moving to Salem, Oregon in 2016. She has a passion for natural resources, but an understanding and respect for all who reside in a watershed. She wants to help create a legacy for families and their future, as well as for the environment. Brandin worked for the City of Salem's Public Works Department as the Watershed Program Coordinator for Drinking Water. This job created a familiarity with residents of the Santiam Canyon, partners, organizations, agencies and water quality of the North Santiam. She was a technical advisor for the North Santiam Watershed Council during her time with the City. Brandin joined NSWC in January 2023. In her free time, her and her husband enjoy camping, hiking, mountain biking and visiting the gems of Oregon with their 3 large dogs.
